This process involves using screens and artwork that is “squeegee” screened onto ceramic or glass objects then re-fired in a high temperature tunnel conveyor oven . When we use the term “Deep Etch” we are referring to what is more technically described as “sand blast engraving”. A powerful air pressure compressor forces fine grain, high quartz content, sand directly onto and into ceramic, steel, or glass products. The products are prepared with a gel template that masks the area where the desired logo is to be literally sand blast “carved” into or engraved into the product. This process although very labor intensive does yields unique and quality results, producing a deep cutting into impression in the metal, glass, or ceramic item.

DIAMOND CUT

When we use the term “Diamond Cut” we are referring to what is more technically described as “sand blast engraving” but it also involves an additional step which involves housing and embedding crystals stones accompanying the deep etch impression. Each crystal has its own carved out setting and is fastened with the latest UV compounds which are not only elegant but dishwasher proof ! A powerful air pressure compressor forces fine grain, with robust quartz content sand, directly onto and into the ceramic, or glass products. The products are prepared with a gel template that masks the area where the desired logo is to be literally sand blast “carved” into or engraved into the product. This process although very labor intensive does yield unique and high quality results, producing a deep cutting into impression in the glass item and accompanying crystal stones within the setting.

RAISED ETCH

This unique decoration technique combines the silk screening method with craft crystal glass making moulding, into one process, that yields truly original results. The “raised etch” look, creates a 3D image of the logo that actually raises up off the glass or ceramic surfaces. This unique technique was perfected and created by our supplier. DECAL The word decal is really an abbreviated term of what is professionally known as the “Under Glaze” transfer method. The artwork is actually set under a layer of glaze which cover coats the artwork and protects the artwork from dishwasher and scratching. This method has been used by fine pottery and glass manufactures for decades and now with digital processing has made many advances in technical advantages over silk screen printing in recent years. Ideal for complicated and multiple colour or process artworks.
